Who is it for? Coaches and coaching teams of girls at clubs with a girls’ section and
clubs starting a girls’ section – this includes qualified and unqualified coaches.
What does Enhance look and feel like? Each twenty-hour project will identify a
coach’s super-strengths, strengths and areas for development.
A project can support an individual or up to a maximum of four coaches. Each coach involved in a project will co-create a learning and development plan to help enhance their coaching of girls cricket. Coaches will receive support from ECB
Coach Developers and coaches appointed
by the county’s Enhance lead throughout the duration of
the twenty hours
What do the key principles look like in action?
• Observation: watching coaches in action and capturing evidence
• Feedback: sharing evidence captured during observations
• Modelling: coaching examples in-situ followed by handing the session back to the coach, for example starting a scenario in a net or coaching illustrations without players, or exploring the core principles of batting
• Sense-making: conversations during or after sessions or at fixtures from the session
• Learning and development planning: iterative designing of the twenty -hour project alongside profiling,
observations and reviews.
